THOSE CAREFREE BURDENED DAYS
When I was young And so Carefree The days were all mine How I truly loved me. The ways of the world Were expansive and wide, I set out on that road And I went for a ride. Every new dawn Bought new things to see, They say: Go for the gusto Cause it's all about me. With no direction of mind I played at the dance, Life had its questions But I left them to chance. Not knowing that Jesus Was the answer for me, I looked to myself For all I could be. Did all the right things And dressed for the part; Looked complete on the outside With a hole in my heart. And driven by a void That could not be explained; Happiness was the goal, You must cover that pain. And Life was a Burden On those carefree days, For I was empty inside With my soul, I did pay. And all the while the Father Was waiting to see When I'd come to the end Of the story of me. And He met me there On life's lonely miles, And I threw off the shakles Of my Carefree lifestyle. And He looked in my Eyes And said, I am your all, So I gave Him my heart And answered His call. Then He gave me the secret How one's life should be lived; Loose yourself to Me And you will surely find It! Peggy Fischer © 2005
